Announcing the new Btrust Engineering Lead

We are happy to announce that Kelvin Isievwore has been selected as our new Engineering Lead.

Kelvin is a seasoned software engineer with over 8 years of experience and a strong track record in open-source Bitcoin development. His Bitcoin journey began in 2021 at RootstockLabs, where he worked as an engineer. He later joined the inaugural cohort of Qala (now Btrust Builders) furthering his expertise in Bitcoin development.

In 2023, Kelvin transitioned to full-time open-source development, and in 2024, he joined Btrust as a Grantee.

Kelvin brings a unique combination of technical expertise, leadership qualities, and passion for empowering developers, making him a perfect fit for this role.

As the Engineering Lead, Kelvin will prioritize recruiting top-tier engineers, ensure code and developer quality across grantees and Btrust Builders, and fostering meaningful collaborations between grantees, mentors, and Bitcoin FOSS maintainers. He will also help us empower developers across Africa and the Global South to make lasting contributions to Bitcoin’s open-source ecosystem.

We are excited to see Kelvin step into this role and look forward to the impact he’ll drive within the ecosystem.

Welcome aboard, Kelvin! 🎉
